Out of curiosity, how did you determine the starter to be bad?

 

My vehicle completely died and a brand new battery didn't help. my girlfriend's father attempted to give me a jump but my vehicle was apparently giving electrical feedback to his when I attempted to start it. it also had been making a strange noise when starting and running that progressively got worse until it ran for the last time which was the worst it had been. up to that point, I was getting semi frequent jumps from coworkers but the last time it made a very horrible and loud noise, I drove to the store to get a new battery and ended up stranded.

 

Hopefully this new starter fixes your issue. Ask your gf father to help you replace it. He probably has all the tools.

I would make sure engine is able to rotate. Should be able to tap starter solenoid and get it to start, sometimes.

Good point. A new starter isn't going to fix a seized up engine. Well at least not a wimpy one designed for a 1.5L.

 

It would suggest a 1-day subscription to Honda's Service Information System; it's $30, and will have all the information you need.

 

I still can’t believe they charge us for that.

 

Don't think even dealers get a paper version anymore, all online.

Most techs don't know how to use one anyway.
