going from a 2012 EX-L non-navi radio to a 2015 OEM NAVI radio (in the 2012), I am still unable to set the clock!
It almost seems that the i-mid will only accept input from the original base radio.

I wonder what the RP4-HD11 unit is doing which allows clock control for those of you that added a 3rd party head unit?
red/white wire = parking brake
purple/white wire = vehicle speed output
red = accessory output
orange/white = illumination output
white/green = SWC analog input

Not sure if this applies to your situation, but here is a quote from the RP4-HD11 instruction manual...

"4. Vehicles equipped with a 7” touchscreen: Once the factory head unit has been removed you will no longer be able to set the clock or date on the factory display as this is derived from the factory head unit. The date on the screen can be permanently removed by disconnecting the batttery to clear the screen’s memory. In order to set the clock you will need to disconnect the vehicles battery at 1:00 as this is the time the screen defaults to once it has been reset."

Yes thank you Jepalan,
I had to do that, I waited until 1am, and connected battery, now time is correct with head unit. But this isn't a permanent solution, when the time changes for daylight savings, I'll have to do it again.

I believe I've discovered the problem for me:
The 2015 7" head unit isn't "communicating" with the 2012 i-mid display. They are working independently of each other. I tested this out by going into the head unit diagnostics and it said "NG" for upper display.
This also means that the USB connectors won't work because the head unit needs to communicate with the i-mid to decode the .MP3 music information and then transmit it back to the head unit which sends it out for amplification.

This absolutely means that an i-mid from 2015 needs to be installed if you are to do this upgrade. This ofcourse should also solve the problem of the radio station information showing up on the upper display again as well.

This is a fun project and I'll keep everyone posted on this issue....

I agree that the protocol between the radio and i-Mid must have changed between 2012 and 2015 (7"). This is why RP4-HD11 doesn't work with the 7" display models. The RP4 monitors button presses and when the menu button is pressed it then passes the presses to the i-Mid (instead of the radio) so that clock can be changed and menus navigated, but the way the clock works on the 7" display models must have changed.

<EDIT - DELETED WRONG INFO> Unfortunately I only have schematics for 2012, not the newer 7" models.

You are correct - the 2012 USB from the console connects directly to i-Mid.

its normal when i push the voice activation they work only in the radio interface and not with the carplay ? i get the mute when the carplay is on

my car : Honda CRV-SE 2016
Pac audio kit : RP4-HD11
My radio : avh-2300 nex pioneer

How did you guys get rid of the "Audio Off" on the imid? Please I tried everything!
No way to do it that I know of. It is built into the i-Mid control module. If the radio doesn't talk to i-Mid, then it stays there.
I just live with it. A piece of cleanly cut black electrical tape will make it disappear nicely if it bothers you.

Try installing the original radio, and keep it "ON". Then disconnect the radio from the car while it is still powered up. Then install your new radio.
Also, try installing the PAC AFTER you install the new head unit. Sometimes the order matters, or vice-versa.

The DUET signals are responsible for the communication between original head unit and the i-mid.

I took a look at the schematics again. There is a signal from the factory radio called "GA_Sys_On" it is a pink wire that goes from radio to the i-Mid, Handsfree Link module and XM receiver (if equipped). It comes from pin C5 on the radio and goes to pin A32 on the i-Mid. I wonder if tying this line to logic high (probably 5v) would fake out the i-Mid?

This is an interesting idea. I hope someone tries it!

My thoughts were to interrupt the DUET signals. So disconnecting B4, B5, B14. The problem here is - you will lose the radio-station page and the volume up/down icon showing up in the i-mid. But if you don't care about that since you have an aftermarket deck and don't look at the i-mid for that information page, it shouldn't matter.
Ofcourse the other "pages" will work, like fuel consumption etc.

I know this is an old post, but I have a '14 EX-L non navi if I were to install an aftermarket radio would the backup camera still pop up in the imid screen or will it now pop up in the replacement headunit
