I have had some issues with my car not starting. Battery is a honda 100 month, we are 50 months in.
The last time this happened we took it to three auto places and had them run diagnostics.
Two said it was a bad alternator, one was inconclusive.

We took it to our mechanic who initially said it was a bad alternator.
However, when we picked it up he said he put three alternators on and all of them would only register 12.4 volts.
He told me to take it to the dealer.

Not really keen on that as several years ago when this happened they told me mice chewed my wiring harness.
Not true.
We bought a new battery and we were fine until recently.

When you press the starter switch dash lights come on then start tweaking.

What would cause this issue?

Thank you in advance.

Charging System Description - Overview The alternator outputs the power corresponding to the electrical power consumption, varies to multi stage and acquires the reduction of the fuel consumption by proper output control. The 12 volt battery sensor attached on the 12 volt battery negative terminal measures the current value, voltage value, 12 volt battery temperature and internal resistance, changes to the signal and sends to the PCM. The PCM calculates the proper AC output based on the received data and sends commission data of the proper generating to the alternator for the required generating. When the alternator is at fault, one or more of the following DTC is stored. Refer to the corresponding troubleshooting. DTC Detection Item P0562 Charging System Low Voltage P065A ACG No Charging Malfunction P1549 Charging System High Voltage P16BB Alternator B Terminal Circuit Low Voltage.
Batteries are maintained at a low charge, and battery life deteriorates due to sulfation. Typically in CRV's battery life in hot weather (southern states) is typically 2 to 3yrs.

Starter maybe????

Had similar issue with my 2015 EX back in Feb this year. The battery was about 4 yo, and I had intermittent trouble starting.

I took it to an independent Honda service shop (not a dealer) and told them I thought I needed a new battery as the car failed to start often.
They checked it out and called and told me the battery is good, but the starter was the issue. They replaced the starter- and no issues since.

If you live near a larger town- try to google "honda shop" and see if any independent shops pop up. You will fare better if you can find a shop that specializes in Honda. A dealer is my last option.

All a 100 month battery means is that after 36 months you get a pro rated credit on a replacement battery purchased from Honda but you still have to pay for any installation costs. It doesn't mean the battery is expected to last 100 months. Typically a flooded cell lead acid battery ( including Honda's 100 month) has a life span of 3-5 years.
