I'm looking to purchase EX-L. Test-drove both 17 CRV and 17 RAV4. I'm 6'2 230lbs, and feel that the front driver seat is more constricted in the Rav4. What's everyone opinion ? The specs do say that the Rav4 is 1 inch taller headroom. Just want to get a feel of how those tall & big guys feel on daily commute.
Another question is I read the review somewhere which says that the Rav4 would exhibit slight rattle even with just 10k mileage while CRV is fairly quiet and smooth. Thanks !

Well i am 6'2 and i felt headroom was not comfortable in RAV4 back seats. And i also think it would not be comfortable for 3 good size people to sit there.

I'm 6' 3", 210 pounds and I still have a couple inches of headroom in my touring CRV. Road in the RAV4 and it was fine for me as well. I guess it depends on your upper body to lower body mass

I am 6'2 as well and am the same weight. I found after checking all mid size SUV's the the seat and driving position adjusability, the CR-V was the most adaptable.
I rented a RAV4 for 8 weeks to travel around Australia and it was not the most comfortable of the SUV's. I narrowed my choices down to the Mazda CX5 and Subaru and chose the CR-V because it checked off all the right boxes (and it looks good too).

6'5" and I fit great in my EX-L. I wish I could have gotten this trim without the sunroof as that would add a bit of extra headroom but I don't really need it.

I do wish that the wheel telescoped out more. The seat can move back more than I have it but the steering wheel doesn't extend back enough for that to be comfortable.

All depends on your body geometry, where your height is, and how much padding you have in the seat (which can increase your height sitting down, if you hadn't noticed, lol).

I am only 5'11" but all my height is in my thigh bone; and I have a knee that can give me excruciating problems if it's cramped. Friends much taller can drive many cars I can't.

I wanted a smaller car actually, that was still safe -- but it wasn't going to happen in many smaller cars that pass the IIHS safety tests without adding aftermarket extensions on the seat rails (google and you can find them for popular models, company in California) and I wasn't going to risk them, though my insurance agent told me it would not affect claims.

The leg room is just barely adequate for me in the 2017 CR-V but enough difference from the 2016 that I was able to fit it and bought one. I've adjusted the seat to fit me, and on a trip, the power seats in the EX allow me to adjust while driving if my knee starts to cramp up. (Couldn't get power seats until a higher trim level in the Rav-4.) Having said that, I've never noticed my knee cramping in any of the Rav-4's or Camry, driving.

Another family member, taller, has to bend his head way over to get thru the door of the Rav-4, scootch thru, seems it's the quick slope forward of the door getting shorter toward the front; watching him contort to get in bothered me. He's also a huge guy and can fit comfortably in the front, driver/passenger, or rear of the 2017 CR-V, and thinks he can drive it in an emergency, which is one of the reasons I selected it.

I forgot about the steering wheel. Geometry and bodies. The steering wheel barely comes out far enough for me with the seat all the way back on its rails as I have to have it. I guess I have short arms, and I have a family member with even shorter arms.

I think the safety considerations of the air bag being too close to the driver has resulted in steering wheels traveling less.

I stopped on the way home from the dealer and bought a heavily padded steering wheel cover that gives me the added distance; that little bit helps. But I was thinking before I bought that I might have to get one of the knobs that bolts on if I didn't feel comfortable with the grip. I'm going to look around town for a better steering wheel cover, don't like the puffiness of this one, but am getting used to it.

I just fit with the seat at the lowest position. I agree that the steering wheel could telescope out a lot further. I find I'm reaching for it at my natural distance. I've had to move the seat forward to keep my shoulders from slouching forward.
That being said, it was the best fit in the class for me.

You must be my long lost twin. Same measurements, but the roof doesn't seem the close. maybe because my hats all have wide brims. The front seat adjustments are very good for this version and yes it would be good if wheel could be a little closer to where I am instead of me moving to where it is. the seat settings are nice and my first experience with that much tuning for seat comfort at this price.

I'm 6'5" (yes I'm a very tall woman) and with a 38" inseam and I have enough leg room. The only two cars I've driven with more legroom was a 2008 Cadillac CTS my father used to have and a 2010 Mini Cooper my spouse and I had but there wasn't that much of a difference. There is a lot more legroom in in the 2017 CRV vs the 2014 CRV I originally had. I've found tilting the front of the seat gives me a little extra legroom.
