I am currently driving 2022 Rav after owning 2015 CR-V Touring for several years. My preference is gasoline only and I know some models offer only the hybrid. It seems the Touring is out, so I would like some insight on the models that I should consider. I am seeing some strong reviews on the EX-L. I would appreciate any insights that you other forum members would like to offer.

I had a 2020 Touring (ICE) and when it came time to update I really didn't like what they had done to the Touring (hybrid only, AWD only, ugly black wheels). I just traded for a '25 EX-L and I'm happy with it. The couple of features I gave up weren't that important and I saved about $6k.

Do your research. Go to the link below and go down to 'Compare all features and specs". Make an informed decision based on your own research, not from what some unknown person on a forum said.

upon my research, I find Honda really pushing Hybrid if one wants the features that used to be on EXL/Touring. Maybe I've missed some things, but not happy w/removal of so many options from gas versions. happy I don't need a new vehicle.

The 2026 models will have more features for the lower trim levels, but price may be higher. For me the hybrid powertrain is an improvement over the ICE only powertrain. It is quieter, smoother, has more power and torque, and gets much better non-highway gas mileage. Yes, it is more complex in that it has a battery and a controller for that, but it also has no accessory drive belts or transmission.

We’ve leased a 2018 EXL, a 2022 EXL, and now a 2025 EXL that we got last October. Love this new one and find it’s got enough power for us. Never an issue joining a high speed road and easy to accelerate. Love the vehicle so far. Would recommend it to all.
