I recently lost my braking power in my CRV. I had previously used my adaptive cruise control on the highway. Got into a huge traffic jam, applied my brakes. My cruise control’s light went off. I’m assuming it had canceled like it should since I applied brakes. I had changed lanes and was behind a semi. Stop and go and then car is rolling and won’t stop with brakes. I hit the truck at around 3 mph. I had no brake power at all. Has anyone heard of this happening? Trying to figure out why.

That has got to be scary!

Did the brake pedal feel normal when you were pressing it down? How about after the accident? Did it work normally? Is your 2024 Honda CRV a Hybrid or not?

Yes. Brakes had a regular resistance. Just nothing happened! Very scary. I rolled into a semi truck. Damage to my car. I turned the car off and restarted it hoping it would reset. I’m going to take it to Honda, but I was told they couldn’t get the data, but they would check it out. I want to know the data. It has to show something.

Woops, I just clicked on your name and see where it is a Sport Touring model like mine. Now you have me really concerned. Please let us know what the dealer's mechanic says.

BTW, love your picture of the poodle or labradoodle!!!! We have two mini labradoodles, Guinness (like the beer) and Graham as in Graham Crackers.

Omg I hate this car - there are already 2 recalls - I’m waiting for more - my sensors went crazy at a stoplight w no cars and 5 blocks later backing into my driveway the sensors don’t go off and smacked into the fence guessing $2k in damage -can’t see out of rear view mirrors at night and camera is a blob - the blaring lights make it so you can’t see - this car keeps getting worse- I’m getting rid of it - who pays for the damage- I was so mad about sensors going nuts I did a video - I’m seeing the cars getting towed off highways- ugh

Yeah, it's a real drag when technology fails you and you're reduced to having to look where you're going.

That makes two of us. I got my CRV in April and in early October it happened as I was pulling out of parking spot. When I applied the brakes there was no response and I back into a parked car. No damage to it but I had an estimate of $2000.00 to mine since it was on the hatch door. I didn't report it because I thought it was my fault. But yesterday as I was parallel parking I reversed into the spot and when I went to straighten out my CRV I put it into gear and started moving forward about a yard and a half slowly. When I went to apply the brakes nothing happened and hit my. I haven't moved my car so that I can have evidence of what happened and to figure out what to do next.

What have you done so far in your situation?

I contacted the Michigan Lemon Law attorney who advised me to take it to the dealership and file with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Which I just finished. Once it's posted all will be able to see it.
The dealership service mgr started out by say "I've been with Honda thirty years and have never heard of this happening". I will be charged a$185 for a data analysis unless it is factory default.

I am in Canton, Michigan. SusiG, where did your incident occur?
