Recently, I've seen some signs of critters in our parking area and I know of a few folks in the area who've had chewed up wires and or nests built in the cabin filter area. So, I checked my cabin filter the other day. Luckily, nothing to report.
If other owners keep snacks and/or leftover food containers in their cabin, the mice won't bother stopping by the possible food venue of your CRV. :D Nesting on the other hand is a more egalitarian approach to picking a vehicle to nest in. :p

Of course there is always the odd mouse who sees a vehicle as both a nesting place and a stay at home snacking venue. These mice are of course introverts and prefer to have everything within easy reach so they don't have to go out and then have to socialize with other mice. :ROFLMAO:

All things being equal, they follow their noses to food. If no food to be found, then they sniff around and snack on the first thing that smells like food... such as wire insulation produced from soybeans.

Interesting.

Our UK CR-Vs built in Japan do not have soy-based wiring insulation.
I am making an assumption on them using it in Gen5 CRV's. The use of the soy based insulation is pervasive in the industry now. I would think wire harness manufacturers are all dealing with the same environmental regulations. There's been many lawsuits about it and not just against Honda.

But either way, after finding a nest in the air filter area I decided to assume the worst. I doubt it attracts rodents but it might entice them into having a 5 course meal instead of a quick snack.

I've been having so many problems with mice in my CR-V. I tried everything. Sprays, mothballs, peppermint, etc. I even purchased no kill mouse traps to relocate them. The problem is, in 30 days I got about 25 mice and there were no signs of them slowing down. They ate through my AC wiring, keep building nests in the air vents, and pood everywhere. When I had my car detailed the guy said there was a ton of poop in the vent--so I was breathing that in--nice. I can't wait to try this fix. I never had a problem like this before. I never eat in my car and I take my dog wherever I go. I read mice can smell dogs so if you sprinkle some dog hair around they'll stay away. I can tell you thats %100 absolute BS haha.
