I found a few threads on here how to make the footwell ambient lights actually do something.
I removed both front lights and unsnapped the covers over the LED. Noting a few said they ended up being too bright using a 3/8” drillI opted smaller and went with a 11/32 to give a bit of a ledge for the Lamin-X film to have something to grab. Drilled them out applied the film and reinstalled. Camera makes them a bit brighter than they are but i think they will be perfect. If they are still too bright i can add another layer of the film.
Its a bit ugly but its my first attempt. Proof of concept.
And finished things off by ditching the lousy T10 US spec halogen interior bulbs and tossed in a set of LasFit LED T10s. Why they didn’t use them in US Spec Vs is beyond me. Still waiting on my T16s for the back up bulbs then om 100% LED.
