New Joying Head Unit No Sound

Hey guys,

I really need to change my factory head unit from my CRV. My car is built in late 2019, Executive trim level (Eastern Europe market which seems identical to Touring trim) and has 8 speakers (1 tweeter and 1 speaker on each door) and a subwoofer in the trunk. The factory HU is the one with android and touch screen, very laggy...
From what I read on this forum, there are highly likely chances to have an external AMP for that subwoofer.
I tried to clarify this aspect but my head unit doesn't come out too much letting enough space to easily unplug those harnesses.

Though, I found a picture with a HU from a Civic (though the red letters are wrongly added) which seems pretty similar to mine and on the same thread I found the harness wiring diagram. It's a Mitsubishi Electronics Model NR-000.

I suppose I can confirm my question by checking the same harness and comparing the number of wires which come in the following harness, plus that I have the socket marked with blue arrow.

^ the harness for the system with AMP has 8 wires (because there is another socket marked with blue)

146285

^ the harness for the system withouth AMP has 15 wires and the socket is not there

The source of the document is here: https://www.civicx.com/forum/attachments/7-inch-stereo-connectors-pdf.144794/ (uploaded to my thread as well in case the URL is considered advertisement)

I had 2 Joying Head Units on my shortlist and closed to acquire one but they specify that "If your car has 11 speakers or has a factory amplifier with the fiber interface, please do not purchase this head unit."

For those who have CRV Touring and replaced the factory HU, what head unit did you buy? I really need to change this HU...it's a crap.
Could anyone point me some android head units able to use 8 speakers and the subwoofer with external AMP?

Regarding Joying company, they have a warehouse in DE to deliver in Europe if I correctly remember. If it wasn't about this.. then I'm afraid I didn't get your point 🙈

So I'm in this boat right now. I wish I saw your post but I already tried to install it and realized that I'm not getting any sound. Not sure which route I'm going to go but I like the Joying HU so we'll see how much I'm willing to spend.
Dude.. I like it so much and I'm ready to order it anytime (the one with 9" or 10") but... I really don't know how we should deal with the sound connector and the sound itself...
Which is the one you chose?

I found another unit, I discussed with the seller but something is telling me that the seller doesn't know exactly this aspect and confirms by default that the head unit is working with our setup. The "brand" is ZWNAV, can be shipped from warehouses in Europe (delivery less than a week), and here is a link: ZWNAV [ 2 Din Android 10 ] For Honda CRV 2017-2019 DSP

I kept researching and I found a product on ZWNAV page on Aliexpress which seems the same product as the one in the link and it says 4x50W for sound, this confirms what I'm saying. Though, the person I was talking to over messenger(FB) said that the head unit on Aliexpress is a different device and he/she even supposedly asked a technician about this aspect, technician who confirmed the device in the link above is working on my setup. (setup presented with pictures and explained).
I was thinking you can engage the seller too on Facebook and ask about the same situation and see what the seller is answering.

you can search ZWNAV on google and you'll get some Facebook results. I don't think you'll understand much if you see the back of the head unit. Each vendor designs the back of the HU and the connectors.. the main issue here is if the HU is designed to output the sound and has the right harness to connect to our connector.

Find below the ZWNAV facebook page:

ROFL.. I had a chat with ZWNAV seller on Aliexpress about the same model (MaxPAD 11.8") and they said the head unit does not support factory cameras... odd
anyways.. explained again my concerns and sent pictures. I've requested a picture with a connector frim this head unit which can connect with our audio connector.

(but from my experience working with asians/chinesse .. they almost all the time have positive answers but they are not telling the truth
sometimes because they don't understand and sometimes because they just don't care..)

anyways, now seriously, I really need to find a replacement for this piece of crap. A 10" or 11" would be perfect (the one you posted above is awesome) but I can survive with a 9" as well.
I'm very confused because there are just 2 ppl (you and I) trying to find a good replacement.. really? there are no other ppl here interested in this topic?:unsure:

hmm.. you don't have carplay and android auto available on your head unit? odd again
I have these features available on my HU but I need a decent android 9 or 10 head unit with at least 9" display. Keep in mind that I have a different level of equipment (trim) on my car. It's Executive, the highest trim sold in Eastern Europe, there 2 more: Elegance (mid class), Lifestyle (low class).

Reviving this thread...

Today I was at a local Honda service for some checks.
Off-topic: an engineer is collecting evidence of an "issue". There is a sound (in high frequency) coming from the engine compartment that appears on decelerating (40km/h to 20km/h). This happened since the beginning, it didn't happen over the night. Though, that engineer is not familiar with this sound, have checked several Honda CRVs automated 2019 having this odd sound. I don't know if this is a bad sign or not, the car is working perfectly. I suppose the final resolution would be "all act the same, proper functionality, no issue".Anyways

On topic: I was complaining to this engineer about several negative aspects, one of which was the tablet. He put me in touch with another guy (highly likely knowing much more on this direction). I explained that I want to change my infotainment system because it's a crapy tablet with much fewer resources but I have several aspects which stop me in doing so:
1. amplifier existence which makes the aftermarket tables incompatible on the sound side
2. lower sound volume (I would say sound quality) on the rear doors speakers even though the equalizer was checked, no wrong settings like fader etc.

The guy explained to me that we can bypass the amplifier, basically wiring all speakers directly to another harness (highly likely acting like a Honda without an external amplifier, wires connected to the bigger harness). This will solve the lower volume on the rear doors (happening probably because the existing amplifier is set like this).
What do you think?

I got an update that I posted here: New Joying Head Unit No Sound

No need to bypass the amp and audio works great!
oh wow.. that's great news. What exactly did you do? What the service provided to you?
Again, just to be sure that I've correctly understood the situation here:
  • you have a stock external amplifier and 10 speakers (1 on dashboard, 2 on each door, and 1 on boot);
  • the audio harness is the one that connects to the socket marked with the blue box (see the picture posted on the first post of the thread);
  • you bought a Joying Head Unit which you mounted but you didn't have sound because of the incompatibility between the original audio harness and the Joying HU audio harness;
  • someone from Honda service provided you a cable/connector which solved the issue;
If all I wrote above is correct, please send me some pictures of the piece you received from the service to resolve the sound problem.
I really need to change the HU too but I just don't want to bypass the original external amplifier.
