Greetings from sri lanka

recently brought a CR-V 1998 RD 1 and i really dont have much knowledge about it but i love it - need to know if things


1 - how do i know if my RD 1 is a EX or LX

2-how do i find if rear differential is on or off ?


3-need to replace oxygen senser - what exact part number do i have to look for ?

4-having a weird noice on the rear door , search online it said its a common problem but no proper instrustion how to fix it , Help


5- getting its error code when system check - (P0715) Input Shaft (Mainshaft) Speed what would the issue be ( yes having a slight gear shifting issue but my previous owner restored it fully )

6 what are the main things I need to check in CR-V since its pretty old I would like to give more care

7 how do I prevent rust under the dash board
 
1 lx has wheels ex has mag wheels
2 rear differential is always on but it will only work when needed
3 google it
4 most likely door lock actuator
5 might be a dirty sensor, remove the vss and if there is slugde clean it and change the transmission fluild
6 tune up parts all fluilds brakes suspension
7 anti rust spray

To add to what CRV touring said:

Replace timing belt and water pump when needed. Buy a good kit. Research on the forum.

Adjust the valve lash periodically. Easy to do. Search forum.

I don’t see why you’d have rust under the dash. Usual place is rear quarter panels and rocker panels.

change cabin air filter. Actually I’m going to go do that now lol.

use genuine Honda fluids for rear differential, transmission. Use Honda compatible blue coolant.

rear brakes have drums so the pads last practically forever.

grease the front brake calliper slide pins occasionally.

Consider picking up a spare distributor at a junk yard to have on hand.
