Has anyone has found 12v (in the rear) that's hot when the car is running?

 

I agree, I was disappointed to find out it's only avail on the Canadian version.
Why, I have no idea.

 

Another weird 'marketing' item?? All Canadian CRV's have the rear and two front outlets.

 

The more I hear about the Canadian version of the 2017 CR-V, the more jealous I am of our fine neighbours to the north. It's almost worth taking a roadtrip from the NYC area to Niagara Falls, ON (or Mississauga or Hamilton or Toronto) so that I can buy the Canadian version. I'm sure that the import taxes/duties would add a significant amount of $$ to the price, but it would be the best way to "get all the goodies" that we Americans are being excluded from.

Ahhhh well... I'll try to be happy with my new Touring when I pick it up tomorrow from my local dealer.

I personally have never had a use for one in the back, and I still have a dash cam in the rear window.

 

Dash cam in the rear window? Is this a pseudo-backup camera, or is it because you have gotten rear ended too many times?

 

I had no idea it was not standard equipment, even my 97 has it. I guess it was for the picnic table, and yes Honda designed all the 12v sockets to work only with key in place.

Since this is already on the CA model there is a good chance you can get the parts to retro fit.

 

The parts/install is apparently the only way to get it.

Wonder what that costs as I am interested in getting it. Looks like a side panel, outlet, and hopefully only a plug in to the existing wiring.

Drill, aftermarket socket and butt splices would most likely do it.

 

The rear 12v rear outlet Is handy for a cooler

 

What the first & 2nd gens were about.

 

this now leads me to this question before you start tapping.... hitch harness have one ever found it. again just like the 1st and 2nd gen a option to

You saying use a lighting circuit for an AUX load??

 

not North america but that is the route you go.
