Two points, got full Honda service history but this year Im going to an independent garage who I know for 15 years. Hondas service prices are a joke and most of it is checking things which my mate who is an AA patrol man does for free.
I am going to flush brake fluid and change fuel filter as its never been done, car just hit 50k...any other things I should do?

Main point, the car only moves for 20miles once every 2 weeks, and I noticed a slight whine sound when I put it in reverse, it only sounds for the first move, seems to be coming from the wheels..any ideas what this is? The car has been checked mid 2022 from honda, no issues.

Rust on the surface of the rotors?

just wondering, is changing the fuel filter easy enough for an independent garage, as he seemed to think so as no one but Honda have ever touched the car before.

He did say flush and changing the brake fluid may be a bit difficult as its 2011 the nuts can seize. I dont know what thats meant to mean but I will just go down 30/08/23 and watch him.

I think he is referring to the bleed screws on the calipers, wouldn't hurt to give them a shot of penetrating fluid before you take it in.

OK , I will do that...the brake fluid last checked had less that 2% moisture but is probably 6y old so I thought may as well change it... How often should I be driving this car around as I have another car (corolla hybrid 2022 auto) that I use mostly so this tends to sit in one place recently and I dont want it to seize (not bothered about battery as I can change that I mean the rest of it)

edit..also sometimes I get like a small puff of blue smoke on takeoff when its been parked up for 2-3 weeks but no smell..is this normal?

Turns out the rust was as mentioned here, dirt on the rear brake discs as it wasnt moving much, sorted that out today.

Oil didnt even look dirty...cabin filter was real dirty...last changed 2014 but only done 15,000 miles, same with the engine air filer although that wasnt that bad considering the age but suppose its environment and miles...

fuel filter wasnt that bad at all for 50,000 miles, changed it anyway
They couldnt do the brave fluid stated that they didnt have the adapter that goes on to the bit where the fluid goes in....odd as dont know what that means but they tested the fluid and it was fine no moisture so had to leave it...

any opinions on old brake fluid which tests under 2% moisture as wanted to change it but they couldnt.
