P0134 2004 CR-V

My catalytic was recently stolen. So I had an aftermarket CC installed and I bought these o2 sensors (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RSB8SRJ). I had the mechanic install everything. I had them reset the faults. The car drove a bit funny with idle fluctuating. So I figured it was IAC so I went ahead removed and cleaned everything put everything back (it was pretty dirty tbh) and it helped a little. Today I drove the car for quite some time to get to relearn. I noticed it would rev up and then settle down when it accelerates between shifting. Again attributed to the fact it's still learning the new idle. Just now I went for a short drive and the check engine light went on with P0134 (O2 sensor Circuit No Activity Detected Bank 1 Sensor 1). Is the cheap o2 the cause of all this (idling, shifting oddly)?

Just to add -- the car has been sitting undriven for a few months, and even more so with CC getting stolen, so the battery has been dead).

Any thoughts on what I should be doing to find the culprit? I'm using this experience to learn about cars. So bare with my newbie questions.

Don't try anything else...just replace the O2 sensors (at least, the first one) with a proper WIDE BAND O2 sensor. Preferably the OEM Denso brand.

Did you look at the reviews of the sensors you bought? Similar experiences to yours. :mad:

Cheap parts or cheap tools often cost more in the long run. The amazon reviews of those o2 sensors are abysmal (even if we all know the reviews are often doctored to look good).

You could try to return the cheap o2 sensors and leave a proper review on Amazon. If you keep them, they’ll just keep making bad quality o2 sensors for other people to buy. Stop buying the cheap parts and maybe they’ll get the hint that people need something relatively affordable that works. People don’t need cheap products that don’t work.

I have bought a couple of sensors from on line. Yeah, not the best but cheap.
You get what you pay for. Anyway, did you verify the O2 sensor upstream of the CC is working?
Any signs of activity? Check the wiring. Sometimes the pins on the connectors spread and the contact is lost.

Seriously, I can't believe myself purchased these. I must have accidentally gotte these(?!). Anyway, I'm gonna go swap them today while it's warm here. @Avisitor but that's my other concern when they cut CC they damaged the wiring. I have a multimeter I can use... I'll look on YouTube on what I need to check. Thanks for the good advice everyone...

So I got under the car using a ramp I had just purchased from Harbor Freights. Swapped my upstream sensor and was going to plug it back in when I realized the plug was different. Thinking to myself, "@#@!$ they sent me the downstream one instead!) But in reality ... the mechanic when he installed my CC swapped upstream and downstream sensors!!!!!! I took out the other sensor and swapped it with the one I had just taken out. End result? The car is running amazingly! LMAO!!! No issues whatsoever!
