2026 CRV Sport L. I’m torn. 🤔
I have a pearl white 2022. Not one nick on the exterior. Surprising to meStay away from white or pearl white vehicles. The Honda white paint is defective and doesn’t adhere to the primer. This is a fact known by most dealers and nosy shops. It peels and American Honda won’t give you any assistance when it does.
I live in Arizona and it is just so hot. Even though we live at 6500 ft it seems like we are closer to the sunYeah try finding your white Honda in a Walmart parking lot. About every third car is white I know I had one...swore I'd never get another one.
That sure worked for me. At a busy Costco, I can spot my car anytime just by the roof rack.I put cross bars on the roof rails of my white CR-V so I could find it in a parking lot.
2024 Sport L AWD Platinum White with 3 items to help find it: license plate cover on front, Gecko decal on rear window, & blue tape on crossbars (where we mount paddle board rack). Notheing looks better than black or dark blue, nothing harder to keep clean. Platinum white is quite different that our 2010 Ridgeline RTL White. Honda interior colors have often been a compromise, alto love the gray leather in our Ridgeline. Sport L interior is more charcoal than real black, which suits us fine, as it's our 1st new vehicle with 'black' interior.Yeah try finding your white Honda in a Walmart parking lot. Vote for the white pearl here. Yes, it's a family joke about finding the white honda in the lot when we go back to our car, but damn it is a nice, deep pearl color. Also, as my first white vehicle, it is easier to keep clean (or at least the dirt doesn't become unbearingly noticeable quite as quickly. I just put some thule racks on it to help it stand out a bit more when trying to find it.2026 CRV Sport L. I’m torn. 🤔
Black and dark colors are the worst for getting hot and showing dirt. Silver, white are good. I got a "Moten Lava" 2018 and it is an amazing color as it's different as light changes.I had a white CRV 2011 and I had no problem with the paint but I kept it up by waxing it. I don't know about the newer cars and the paint.
I do find these new flat dull colors disgusting and every automaker seems to have their version of them. After looking at my neighbor's car and complaining to myself about his color I ended up buying the same color because that was The CRV I got the best deal on. I love the car not the paint color. Honda has no imagination as far as car colors. Those dull colors must be a cheap paint rather than anything with metal flake. I would have loved to had a black car or some type of red. Maybe I'll do a wrap at some point.
Everyone drives white SUV's good luck finding it in the parking lot...One would hope so but I was advised to always stay away from white by a couple body shops and a Honda dealership.
My car has been handwashed and waxed at home with high quality products regularly. The maintenance is not the issue. It’s faulty paint. For both of you and everyone else with newer vehicles or paint in very good condition, though we all know, maintenance and not neglect is important, even more so for reliable vehicles that can last 300-500k+ mile. Oil changes at 5K, transmission service and other fluids and upkerp, tires, etc. But also the paint. Use good high quality polishes. There several available and wipe it down, hose it down or whatever for the easier to maintain like new finishes. If you paint is in that condition, don't take it to automated car washes. If it's company/fleet, leased cars or the paint is fair but that level of TLC is not needed. Sill put good polish on it and take it to a car wash if it gets dirty to make it easier to wipe down and touch up.
BODY SHOPmwhat is a nosy Shop please?
My paint on my white 2000 CRV is as good as the day I bought it, never polished it, no paint protection, nothing, just loving the Phoenix area. Looks like it should last another 25 years.Stay away from white or pearl white vehicles. The Honda white paint is defective and doesn’t adhere to the primer. You are 100% correct. I use good quality paint products on my cars and wash them weekly, by hand and waxing/polishing every other month. I have not been to an automated car wash in 25 years because I am extremely picky. I will not allow anyone to wash my cars, including the Honda service dept. Neighbors and friends cannot believe how the finish on my cars looks as good as new after 5 or 6 years. (I’m also extremely picky about keeping the interior and engine bay just as spotless). For both of you and everyone else with newer vehicles or paint in very good condition, though we all know, maintenance and not neglect is important, even more so for reliable vehicles that can last 300-500k+ mile. What was your issue? What year, model & paint color CRV did/do you have? ThanksMy car has been handwashing at home with high quality products that were recommended by a body shop specialist years ago so maintenance is not the issue. Faulty paint is.
I am 100% with you on this. All my cars still look brand new bc I am the same way as you. Let me ask , any suggestions on new Waxes / Polishes that may have come out or even older ones that you use? I have used NuFinish for years, mostly for bug removal & minor scratches. Our vehicles have always been garaged. That itself makes a big difference. What was your issue? What year, model & paint color CRV did/do you have? Thanks
All my vehicles have been garaged for the last 40 years or so, and I've never had a paint issue with any of them.I have used NuFinish for years, mostly for bug removal & minor scratches. Our vehicles have always been garaged. That itself makes a big difference.
