Hey all, as the title suggests I’m having a squeak in the rear end that I’ve been dealing with for awhile. My V is an ‘05 SE AWD. This noise only occurs when turning and is Sometimes exacerbated by braking. It also isn’t constant when it happens. Only analogy I can think of is it’s like a bird tweeting but much, much more annoying and loud. It has the same very high pitch noise as worn out brake pads, so I replaced pads/rotors about a year ago to no avail. Rear diff service is done every year so it’s not that (hopefully) and tires are still 80% new. I’m thinking it’s most likely a wheel bearing going out and it’s the side loading of the turn that stresses it but I don’t have the telltale “howl” or vibration that usually accompany a bum bearing and the issue hasn’t worsened at all since I first noticed it.
Any ideas to point me in the right direction? She only has a tick over 150k miles now so I’m open to any other preventative maintenance suggestions you have that I should do while it’s under the knife.
