Rear lights not working

I replaced the bulbs & replaced the fuse (no.15, 7.5amp), but both back lights are off. The turn-signal lights and the brake lights are fine, just the regular back lights aren't working.

Beyond replacing the bulbs and fuse, is there anything I can try before I have to take it in to a mechanic?

Are the front yellow side marker lights on(the ones on the outer corner of headlights), when you have the headlights turned on? They are on the same circuit as those rear tail lights. If they are also not coming on, with the headlights on, then there has to be an interruption in the running lights circuit.
The front yellow side marker lights are working. As is the number/license plate light.

I don't think the previous bulbs were blown, they look fine. I put in Eiko brand no.7440 bulbs, 13.5V, 25W, A1.85. O'Reilly website says they fit the CRV, and they certainly clicked into place nicely. Altho the old bulbs say on them 21W & 12V so slightly different
