Getting a scraping sound from the front of the car. Brake pads and rotors are new 6 months ago. The sound is not dependent with braking. I narrowed the sound to driving between 18 and 35 mph only when I do not have the accelerator pressed. As soon as I press the accelerator the noice stops. If I put the trans in neutral the sound also stops. If I am coasting in gear it loudest starting at 35mph and continues to 18 mph where it just stops and the car seems to roll easier. I checked the cv axle and there is a little up/down play at the driverside axle transmission seal. When I hand stun the axle I did hear a little scap at the seal. No signs of damaged or leaking seal or boots. Thinking it is the cv axle. Not sure though.

Yes, it seems like it’s a problem with the CV axle. But, also, I’d check the CV joint for wear or damage.
Plus, parts like control arms or struts could also cause similar noises.
And take a look at the transmission and engine mounts for wear or damage. If these mounts are worn, it can cause weird sounds when you speed up, slow down, or coast.

Have you checked the brake dust shields? My right side front shield had an area around one of the bolts rot through and it bent enough to scrape at some speeds and when turning left. Drove me crazy for a while. Finally all the mounts rotted through and even then it only scraped at certain speeds. I just cut it off with snips - haven't found a replacement yet. I haven't decided if I really care. (that may start a was as to the necessity of the front shields!)
