Spark Plug Replacement

Hello Everyone,

I have a 2019 CRV 1.5T that i'm starting to feel a vibration through the gas pedel. Someone had mentioned that it could be spark plug related. I have 54K on the car and some Honda maintance schedules suggest changing spark plugs every 30K. Is that a common interval?

Where did you get that information? As @Coastie05 said, not true. 100K is the recommended service time for plugs. When that time does arrive, use OEM, Denso, or NGK only.

Suggest that you have a scan done by a reliable mechanic or at least a freebee from one of the big box auto parts stores. That might help in narrowing down possible causes.

I have a 1997 first gen and for some reason my car runs so much better if I replace my spark plugs every two or three months. Don't know why it's like it eats up my spark plugs. They don't look bad but the performance is night and day. It is the weirdest thing try to replace them with a good quality plug and see how it drives

Hey WellsBrandon.... Something else is slightly 'off' in your ride if its using plugs that fast. Agree its often a 'night and day' difference in how it runs- and all said not that costly for you. But, why ? 02 sensor(s) maybe screwing up your mixture ? Does a '97 have a conventional distributor cap with a rotor inside it and a single coil pack ? I've done tuneups on old Hondas where the Dizzy cap and rotor were completely trashed ! Have also replaced the coil pack in there, again older Hondas.

Yes it has a conventional distributor which I have replaced. When I take the spark plugs out they don't look bad. They look like they've been used a little bit. But it is night and day when I put new plugs in the car runs great for a couple months. Recently I did change out the O2 sensors in the car is running phenomenal. So I believe it was mixing the air and gas incorrectly, which is probably why I went through plugs faster. It's not a big expense for me so every month I have or two months I swap the plugs. But I do believe there's something else going on there I don't believe it's a big deal. But it does make you wonder

Yes definitely, so the longer I let my plugs go this is what happens. My transmission starts not shifting really smoothly and kind of hesitates here and there it just doesn't run perfectly. Loss of power bogs down. Less power When accelerating. And these are all small things. The biggest one to notice is how the transmission doesn't quite understand when it should be shifting and when it shouldn't be. And it is very subtle I'm currently looking at my fuel trim to see if it's out of whack. I have the blue driver device and I'm trying to learn what they mean. I did change my own two sensors and it's been running amazing since then
