Bosch are good plugs. The only thing I dont like about them is that the top terminal nut loosens up as time goes by. This will cause misfiring & all sorts of things that are undesirable. If you could take out the spark plugs & buy lock nuts to secure the top terminal nut to prevent it from loosening up. If you do not want do the hassle get the NGK brand if possible get the Iridium.
I wouldn't put anything but the recommended NGK plugs. Why? Black when I worked for a Honda dealer we saw many check engine lights on Mondays and Tuesdays. Why? Shade tree mechanics or people that took them to the local ma and pa service center up the street from their house for a tune up. Always ended up being the fact of the plugs they put in.
I dont thing it is a good idea to change them with a different brand instead of the ngk specified on the book when they can last for a long time without problems. I mean the extra dollars are worth it. I just replaced mines after 103k miles. I installed the ngk specified on the manual
Thanks for the reply guys. Like I said, i already notice the bad fuel consumption with the bosch plugs. The one's i removed were ngk iridiums. Will observe it for a week, its only been day 2. Worst case scenario, I will replace the bosch with ngk.
why would you "observe it for a week"? Just go get the NGK Iridium like the ones you took out. Hell, put the old ones back in would be better than running the wrong plugs for another week.
No one here has done any scientific testing, but the anecdotal evidence indicates that NGK is probably the best choice for replacement spark plugs.
Here is an interesting spark plug test (includes NGK) from ProjectFarm on YouTube.
This man tests all kinds of different things and all of the videos have teachable moments.
