They are not supposed to be lit. (FWIW, I've never driven a car where they were, though I'm sure they exist.) There are, however, instrument panel lights for your headlights being on, and for your fog lights.

(Let me take this opportunity to express my annoyance that the "home" position for the headlight switch (where the ridges line up) is "off" and not "auto".

 

The steering wheel stalks appear to have no lighting.

They've never been illuminated on the 5G CR-V.

Doesn’t really matter about your other cars, but you CRV does not.

 

I own a basically brand new '22 CR-V Hybrid EX-L and I can confirm the stalks are not supposed to be lit. I can also confirm I've never seen a Honda with stalks that are lit before and I've had quite a number of them

 

i've rented just about every other major manufacturer car of some sort since 2008 due to travel for kids. i've never had one that the stalks lit up.

My BMW's stalks do NOT light up.

I've owned at least 25 cars and I don't remember any with lighted stalks. Of course many of those cars only had one stalk and it was for the turn signals, only.
I think one of the BMW's stalks is for the turn signals but I'm not sure.

 

I have owned and driven dozens of brands, models and trims of cars and trucks personally, rented and for work and never have I seen any of them with illuminated markings on steering wheel control stalks.
