Have any of our members used The Club on their CR-V?

I'm considering purchasing one as a visual theft deterrent (I realize that it is capable of being defeated).

I would love to hear any thoughts on its day-to-day usage and any challenges it presents (e.g. where to store it in your car when not in use).

Thank you in advance.

I had one a few years ago. Returned it after 2 days. What a PITA -- in 2 days I must have applied and taken this off the steering wheel about a dozen or so times. My thought was it is only good if you use it and using it became an inconvenience very quickly.

I suppose it might be a deterrence, like you mentioned but it's benefit also varies as @Jayceegee mentioned. Where you park, and for how long, etc. might make a difference.

Personally, I always go with this: If they really want my car, they can have it. It is nothing unique and can be replaced. Then I get a newer one!

I have similar one in one of my cars, for close to 15 years. Stopped using it regularly, after I fitted a security system in that car. (Car came with manual key locks, which any 5 year old can open with a measuring scale). It Still remains in the car, under the passenger seat, (because of it's sturdy construction). And is only used when the car is parked in some high risk areas. But I doubt it will do any good against a pro thief.

PS: make sure you mount it properly. Turn the wheel to one side and let the lock be mounted away from the horn pad. Not resting against the horn pad. Else after sometime the weight of it will trigger the horn and if not attended will drain you battery and damage your horn.

I use this everyday. Even when parking for quick errands. Sometimes even alongside the club auto brake lock. It is a deterrent. A professional car thief could get into anything, but given a choice I believe one might opt for the vehicle with less hassle to drive away with.

don't recall which model i bought - not the lowend one. i use it whenever i am leaving the crv for a longer period of time - thus don't use when heading to grocery, etc-the quick trips w/many people around.
