I have a 2019 CR-V which is just reaching 100,000 miles (lots of road trips). I see that Honda recommends replacing the timing chain at 100,000 miles, but also read online that the chain should last the life of the vehicle. I've maintained the vehicle very well and have had no problems thus far. Does anyone know how important it is to replace the chain and is it really going to cost me over $1000 ?? Thanks for any help...

My Maintenance Minder came on this week: B 1 2 3 4
#4, when I looked it up on-line, says: "Replace spark plugs, Inspect valve clearance (cold), Replace timing belt and inspect water pump". Another site said "Replace timing belt (if equipped)".

So hmm, since this car has a timing CHAIN, I suppose this would not apply?? That would be very good news.

Thanks for all the feedback so far> I wanted to know what I might be up against before I go to the dealership.
