Hi everyone, I'm so happy to be a new CR-V owner and join you here :)

I have a new CR-V EX-L, and I often go through an automatic car wash. It makes me nervous when all the proximity censors go crazy as the brushes approach / touch my vehicle. Is that something I should turn off for the car wash and if so, how/where? I've Googled this to no avail. Thanks for your help! :)

Oh and I forgot - mine is a 2025 :) Thanks!

I highly recommend disabling the Brake Hold feature before entering the wash. The switch is on the console. When entering the wash, or should the wash stop while inside, if you inadvertently push the brake pedal, the brakes will lock. You sure dont want to be using the gas pedal to release them. Recommended to me by a helpful attendant.
Yes absolutely, thanks for the reminder :) I use brake hold a lot, but that could be very bad in the car wash...

@BigD thanks again for the helpful diagram - I tried pushing that button in (the left selector wheel) and it just reset my trip odometer unfortunately, it didn't turn off proximity censors :( I am guessing I need to "mute" it once I'm actually inside the car wash? I don't really care about the noise, I just worried my car would stop or something if it sensed too many things, but if it doesn't, it's no biggie, I can just ignore them. Thanks for your help!

You have to push that wheel at the time the first warning goes off. It will still show the warnings, but not the noise.

I turn off the auto windshield wipers, turn off the brake hold, and then mute the warnings once inside the car wash.

My wife of 51 years, drove through the car wash for the first time ever yesterday. It was so funny watching her in a near panic when it first started to pull the car forwards, then when the brushes came down she screamed.:ROFLMAO: I told her just don't put the windows down and she looked at me as if to say "what, do you think I'm a dummy or something"?
Thank you so much! I feel her pain, it is a bit nerve wracking with a new car and so many options
