Unable to open drivers door from inside

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help, please? I've a 2001 CR-V and the interior door handle has snapped off and now I'm not able to open the door from the inside. What makes this a little more of a problem is that my drivers window doesn't work either, so it's not that I can just drop the window to reach outside! I've removed the handle from the door and disconnected it from the rod, and thought that until I get a replacement handle, I could just pull the rod to open the door. However, that's not working, which makes me think there's something else wrong. The remote key locks and unlocks the door, so I guess it's not the actuator, and the door opens fine by the exterior handle. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Grab a handle from the junkyard

Meanwhile you could grab the rear passenger door handle but that’s a lot more work if you have to take off the door card.

Mine snapped off and left a small nub. I opened my door by bending my index and wedging my knuckle behind the nub. Put your thumb over the outside of the nub (as if grabbing it) and the lock will pop open with little effort.
I had an Amazon replacement in two days for $7 and installed in 5 minutes.
I didn’t know you could get the part for $7 from Amazon. Cheaper than the wrecker lol.

Thanks for the replies, it's much appreciated. Okay, I've tried opening the door again by just using the remaining piece of the handle, and it's not opening the door although I can hear something happening. So I guess then that the issue is with the latch? Is this an easy fix once the door panel is removed?

I am having this same issue.
I just got my 98 CR-V, the former owner had taken it all apart and his wife even threw away the door panel.

I just got new latch, handle and door panel from the junk yard.
Put it all back together and worked a couple of times and will not open from the inside again!

This is my first Honda, so I have another question.
Mine does not have a key fob so I do not think it came with this option.
is the lock switch on the driver's door supposed to unlock all 4 doors?
also, should I be able to unlock all 4 doors with the key if I turn it a couple of times?

I hear a click when I try to use the lock switch on the driver's door, but it does not affect the other doors.

I took the door apart, and bent the rod that goes to the inside handle. Bending it shorten it up enough that I got a full pull on it. The door works great if you lock it manually either with the key or by pushing down the lock from the inside. If you use the switch it can cause it to stick and you have to play with it a little bit to get it to work again. But manually it works cherry.
