Worried about my Moonroof

Beautiful day today, and I opened up the moonroof on my 2018 CR-V for the first time in years. No problem. After closing it, there was significant wind noise. Getting out of the car, I saw that while the moonroof appeared fully extended to a "closed" position, the rear edge of the glass did not align with the roof. The glass was maybe a half-inch below the roofline.

I tried opening and closing the moonroof. Didn't help. I pushed the control button (for tilt), but then the glass was significantly ABOVE the roofline.

I kept playing with the control. Presently, the glass is aligned to the point where it would not be noticeable, but on the passenger side, the glass is just a bit above the roofline, and the driver side is just a bit below the roofline.

I am worried that rain could get in.

Is there an easy fix? Do you think this issue would be covered by my Honda extended warranty? Thanks, in advance, for any advice!

Any chance there is something stuck in there that is preventing it closing?

Could also be there is a mechanical issue with the sliding rails.

Worth visual inspection of both possibilities. If you are still under warranty, I would take it to the dealer rather than mess with it.

I would not keep cycling it open and closed until you isolate the cause, as doing so might make things worse in the end.

"easy fix"? Perhaps, ascertain that the edges of the glass seal are clean, perhaps rub a rag soaked with spray silicone on the seals (and the roof mating surface, too)

Agree that if the car is still under warranty, have the dealer look at it.

We all can inspect by looking, seeing if anything feels out of whack (alignment), do not tamper with things like those black clips, if you do, make sure you know where they sat before and if they look good

Maybe someone can go take a measurement, see if they are off, compare yours to their's.

Take a look at the track see all that dirt, see the two black pieaces are they lubed, with White lithium grease, gear grease. see the seal are they silicone? all that tree dirt, Polin, leaf residue, water sludge, etc.

Now we neglect to use things and that can happen, never know a simple cleaning can resolve the issue at hand. stand carefully on the door sill and car OFF, trust me I did a Moonroof vid before I paid that price for CrVOC lol

I can do a cleaning video but only you can fix yours. My suggestion, reinspect, clean up, reclose, making sure you hit close, if you tapped the tilt, it can remember the tilt, as that just happened to me. a video of show -n-tell, has been made. and I'll do an inspection and clean if like if it helps you all out any thank you. after all fails time to call a pro. (For me what I just did)

Added note, NO WATER WILL LEAK on you, take a photo for us please. show us
