Can anyone help me find the MAP Sensor in this engine bay?

I'm hoping my MAP sensor is easy enough to get to that I can switch it myself but it is not as obvious as I had hoped.

I thought for a second I had found it right away, outlined in red and marked with a 1 but it's not right, I think it might be MAF sensor.

Surely the MAP sensor can't be far away from that as it would have to be on the intake...

This is a UK, 2015 Diesel 1.6l Manual.

I did see that site and trying a bit harder it leads me here and to conclude that it is number 7 in this diagram. with any of these 3 codes...

37830-RZ0-G01
37830-RZ0-G02
37830-RZ0-G12

145713

I guess now i'm just trying to figure out where in my engine the bits in this picture are...

Thanks Kev,

I'm assuming you mean to say MAP rather than MAF and then that'll all make sense!

Your ebay link is actually the exact one i already bought, it's getting delivered on Tuesday so it's good to get that confirmation.

It;s way too deep for me though isn't it, I'm going to have to let the mechanic fit that.

It's annoying because most cars have these right on top but nevermind...

Chris1984,
Yeah, I did mean MAP and not MAF been rushing about these last couple of days and not got my brain engaged.

You can reach the MAP sensor very easy just remove the black engine cover and have a look with a mirror and a light – Only one bolt very easy to change.

I've been getting the engine management light and limp mode for about 3 weeks now.

Code is P1237, boost pressure lower than expected.

The limp mode clears after turning the ignition off and on though and I've even gotten used to doing that on the move now.

Not really nailed down any exact sequence that causes it but its only happened on the motorway and cruise control seems to increase the chances.

First we discovered that a recent service had not put quite enough oil in so we tried just topping that up and it was another week before it triggered again.

Then we changed the fuel filter which needed doing anyway but it happened again a few days later.

This time my mechanic talked to a honda tech and he said he'd do the map sensor first.

Maybe I will have a go at changing it then, I guess if I totally cook it up I could get the breakdown cover to take it to the garage.

If this doesn't work the next step will probably be cleaning or changing the egr valve...

I'll try it on Wednesday when I've not got the kids to look after alone!

Hello Chris1984,

I believe you have a low boost pressure problem with a P1237 error code.

If you were having MAP sensor problems, I would have expected to see a P1128 / 29 error code.

My best guess is that the turbocharger might be sticking due carbon build up, or it could also be an intermittent boost sensor problem.

Suggest you run a good turbo cleaner through the system before you go spending more money. I personally use FORTE diesel cleaner and Shell V Power diesel.

I've never bought these treatments for the fuel, I always thought they were a bit of a con to be honest but it can't do any harm so I'll give it a go.

There seems to be 3 forte treatments....

Which one do you reckon?

To be honest they all sound worth doing and relevant but I'm guesssing you can't just throw them in at the same time and I'm not doing a lot of mileage these days.

I would ask the manufactures on that one, but me personally I would only use one at a time and do at least 500 miles between them.

I know what you mean about the fuel, I filled up last November and still going strong on Âľ of tank fuel left.

The angle of your picture of the engine made me think the map sensor was right down the bottom in the back of the engine bay but I found it today and swapped it easily!

Thanks for your help.

I ran the fuel down on Tuesday and I'm now on a tank of v power with the turbo cleaner added.

I guess I'll know in a few weeks if this has all been enough to fix the issue...
