Crank no start-replaced distributor

don't throw the old dizzy unit as you might need parts from it.
You can use a whiteout to mark the original timing mark.
cycle the key at least 10x to the ON position before starting the engine this will help it fire up faster.
Don't run the distributor very long without ground path for the spark plug wires as these units puts out a lot of power.
Be sure that you keep the receipt for the new Distributor as many Aftermarket die or does not last long.
It sounds like the spark plugs are soaked in fuel.
bring a lighter to dry up the spark plugs.
