Hi All,

Been loving our new 2018 CR-V Touring in it’s first 3 weeks here. One issue I have not been able to rectify is setting of the “Auto Headlights Off Delay”. The setup is the same basic concept as it was on my 2010 Accord, and my current 2013 Accord, just a different looking interface. Since the CRV Touring has a Driver 1 and Driver 2 key FOB, I tried setting up both Driver profiles at 30, then 60, then 90 second delays. The headlights turn off immediately upon turning off the car. Any ideas?

Also, possibly related, the auto highbeams do not seem to work. The Light switch on the Left hand stalk is set to “auto” which the manual says to do. Cannot switch the lights to high manually by moving the stalk away either, but can flash the high beams temporarily by moving the stalk inward. Related? Ideas?

Thanks

You turn the stalk to AUTO
that engages the system for auto highbeams

Then you pull the stalk to turn the system on and off
People confuse the AUTO and the light

So if you want to shut them off you pull stalk like every other car and you’ll aee the dash A light go off or pull again for ‘on’
Then they’ll toggle if dark and radar sees no other cars

You may have a problem, but also make sure you understand when the auto high beam indicator is supposed to turn on. Even when working properly, it only comes on when certain conditions are met:

Headlight switch is on AUTO
Lever is in low beam position
Low beams are on and system recognizes it is night
Vehicle speed is above 25 mph

(Owners manual around pg 181)

If any of these conditions are not met, the auto high beam indicator will disappear.

Rossberg several others have had your issue on the 2017 and 2018 CRV. It also affects the auto-sensing wipers and fog lights. Your dealer did not follow the correct PDI procedure, despite Honda issuing several bulletins about this.
Go to your Lighting Setup screen. You should see 5 options. If only 2 are listed, the dealer screwed up. The control systems need a reboot.
Here's Honda's fix:
1) Turn the ignition to OFF.
2) Remove the #18 BACKUP fuse (10A) from the under-hood fuse box.
3) Wait a few minutes, then re-install the fuse.

You will now see 5 options on the lighting screen and your lights will work correctly.
