Rear end squeak

Hey all, as the title suggests I’m having a squeak in the rear end that I’ve been dealing with for awhile. My V is an ‘05 SE AWD. This noise only occurs when turning and is Sometimes exacerbated by braking. It also isn’t constant when it happens. Only analogy I can think of is it’s like a bird tweeting but much, much more annoying and loud. It has the same very high pitch noise as worn out brake pads, so I replaced pads/rotors about a year ago to no avail. Rear diff service is done every year so it’s not that (hopefully) and tires are still 80% new. I’m thinking it’s most likely a wheel bearing going out and it’s the side loading of the turn that stresses it but I don’t have the telltale “howl” or vibration that usually accompany a bum bearing and the issue hasn’t worsened at all since I first noticed it.
Any ideas to point me in the right direction? She only has a tick over 150k miles now so I’m open to any other preventative maintenance suggestions you have that I should do while it’s under the knife.
Thanks!

Parking lot speeds or 25 - 50MPH?

How old are the tires? (Not miles...AGE)

Tried spraying all the rear end rubber bushings with silicone, as a diagnostic?

Rear sway bar links?

You seem to have your bases covered, but sometimes, a common problem exhibits itself in a different way.

At around 125K-135K miles, I was chasing a single squeak from the rear that occurred when backing my 2004 out of an inclined driveway while turning.

125K - replaced rear differential damper and sway bar bushings
130K - replaced OEM rear struts with KYB assemblies
135K - replaced rear sway bar links with Moog ==> Sound went away after this

In my situation, I never thought about sway bar links at first since I thought bad ones would rattle and one side had been replaced at 90K with aftermarket CTR brand based on mechanic's recommendation.

Thanks for the reply’s!

Sound seems to happen most turns at any speed. I’ve heard it on a banking highway curve with my windows down but mostly hear it driving around town most likely because there’s less road/wind noise covering it up.
Tires are a little over 2 years old at this point and I get them rotated very often (probably too much) because my OCD cannot stand the idea of uneven wear. That coincides with regular alignment checks as I get those for free from the dealership (not Honda) I work at. I’ve had our service department check the noise a couple times now but they’re less than thorough and only want to sell a massive rear end overall project which I’m confident it doesn’t need.

I’ll have someone take a look at the sway bar links as well as a good diag with lubricants to see if that eases the noise. Like I said, this noise is bothersome and obviously not Great for the car, but it hasn’t gotten worse so I’ve probably not chased it as much as I could’ve. I love this little suv so I want it to last as long as I reasonably can.

Well, here’s the update. This squeak was caused by bent parking brake backing shields. Unsure how I missed it when I replaced rotors and pads about a year ago but it’s fixed now. No more squeaks! I opted to replace both instead of just bending them back as they were worn and ugly anyways.

Finding that this was the cause allowed me to reconnect the dots of what happened around the time the noise started- I had allowed my mother to borrow the car and she had left the e-brake engaged attempting to back out of a parking spot. I assumed that’s when the covers were bent.

I also gave the whole underside a cursory look while the guys had it on the the lift and confirmed my anxiety about how midwest winters were treating my once gleaming no rust Florida example of a V. Road salt and brine does horrors for all the metal and rubber bits so I’ll need to get some more parts together for an in-depth preventative maintenance project on that this summer. Anyone have an opinion on undercoating? Or is that even worth looking into after the damage is already done?
