i didn't notice it until after owning for 2 wks. and it being red i thought something was wrong. as soon as i got home - had to look it up and look at pictures. LOL

 

Never really noticed or thought about before this thread. Guess my steering wheel is blocking it. Might be a problem for the passenger but my wife has never mentioned it. Much ado about nothing I say.

 

Get some partially opaque nail polish? Make sure it doesn't have glitter (or... do!)

Probably red as in a stop button such as on machinery.

 

Mine was quite annoying at first, and I did my best to ignore it. After 1 1/2 years, I hardly notice it anymore.

if the website worked right, i'd tell ya! icon links don't work for me, sadly among many other things. at least my CRV is doing great!

 

I think they make it bright because of the flip-side: the whole "keyless start is killing people" thing.

 

Is the "Start" button actually visible on this car? I mean I guess I see it when I get in and look around the steering wheel for it but after that I think it disappears on my car.

Hmmm, there MAY be trolls in other threads here, but why would a first time poster be labelled a troll for asking if the start button seems too bright, and looking for a fix? It's only been a couple of days since the first post. Some people do have busy lives, outside this forum.

 

Not "labelled a troll", just a DEFCON 5 precaution. Maybe some merit as it is well known fact trolls are highly sensitive to bright red.

 

Troll or not if it keeps everyone from arguing about oil dillution or chemical new car smells, i'm cool with a over analyzing a red led bulb

Trolls are easy to detect, its the newbies who are doing some research that might get dissuaded by "fake news" so to speak.... I hate "dirty tricks" from competing brands.
