You can follow your MM for fluid interval changes. I’m doing it every 30k miles. All you have to do is a simple drain and fill.

There is no recommended drain interval for the external filter, either. Many owners do it "because it's there".

 

I have a 2012 CRV purchased since new, almost 100k miles. I been changing the transmission fluid every 15k miles with OEM fluid. About 3 quarts go inside and I changed the transmission filter 2 times.

No issues mechanically at all in the 6.5 years of ownership.
