etaggart, how tough was it? Can you recommend the one you got? Thanks!
It wasn't too difficult. I put the camera up to the left of the rear view mirror. I ended up getting the Viofo A119.

I also bought the hardware kit. Wires tuck up nicely in the headliner and then I removed the A-Piller trim to get the wires down to the fuse panel. Pulling the trim off was a bit tricky. Pull the top part out towards you and it will pop out a inch or two. There is a red plastic connector that slides into a slot in the trim.
I used a screwdriver and pushed that down towards the dash and was able to slide the the trim up towards the roof to unhook the two other connectors. Getting the trim back in was tricky as I had to remove the top connector by pinching in the black piece in the frame to remove it, then I removed the red connector by opening up the tabs and separating the black and red pieces. I reinstalled the black connector to the frame and slid the red connector back into the trim piece. This allowed me to reseat the trim to the other two connectors and then align the black and red connectors on the top and push them together. Good thing is that I didn't break anything..
The A119 had decent reviews and has GPS as well. I bought the circular polarizing filter, but haven't tried it out yet. It should cut down on glare and reflections from the dash.
Sorry about the picture rotation...
