Wow, I'm getting about 34 mpg combined on my FWD EX. Much better than I expected. So far only I have about 250 miles in cold temps near freezing. However, I'm a pretty slow driver. No idling, no sprints, no hammering the brakes. If these numbers are common I'll be very happy!

I'm interested in knowing the real life fuel economy numbers people are getting. I currently drive a 2014 Accord V6 rated at 34 on the highway. I drive 140 miles a day round trip for work, with most of it highway. I average 31-32 in my Accord, which is fine. I am looking at trading for a CR-V Touring with the 1.5 Turbo. I would hope to get at least the gas mileage that I get in my Accord. I do NOT drive with Eco enabled on my Accord. I do not plan to enable it on the CR-V either. I find that it causes the car to be too sluggish. Any feedback would be appreciated! I'm looking to purchase in the next 6 months.
I have the EXL AWD and I have made two trips for about 300 miles each trip of which about 30% was local. I averaged 36.1 while on the highway and it dropped to 35.3 when on local roads.

I mostly do local driving and overall since I got the car and now on about 1300 miles I'm averaging 24. Something. Can't remember the exact number

2017 EX-L AWD, Eco mode off, 75/25 hiway/local, currently get 25.x mpg.
Totally disappointed!
Have you done your own calculations or are you depending upon the Honda info screen? The info screen usually says I'm getting 26-28 MPG while my calculations are 32-33 on my AWD EX

Something fishy going on here with all the high milage some are getting... Are you sure you are calculating it correctly and using US gallon (3.78L) and not IMP gallons (4.54L)?

Your info screen at 26 US/mpg seems right. If you calculate using IMP gallons your at 32 mpg.

So far, my CRV milage info display is pretty much bang on when compared to my hand calculations using US gallons.

Yep. I've lived in the US all my life and know no other method of calculating other then the way I was taught 25 years ago. I also cross check it with the Automatic which I find to be accurate.

It should be noted that my driving is 90% highway.

The MPH calculator on my old Fit was low by about 3MPG

No, I have not. I will do on my own as usual but based on my experiences, if the Info screen displays 25.x, I would get about 1 mpg LESS in reality.
Anyway, I'll give it some more tanks 'til hit 1000 miles then I would know for sure.

* Qualification : read my post from 11:23 pm tonight * ...I am getting an honest 16.4 mpg in City driving . The epa/honda numbers are phony. If I go out of the city or residential area and drive a route with a stoplight every mile or so ..average around 40-45 mph .. ..my mileage goes a little over 28mpg. If I hit the freeway the mileage will average 31-34 . But in relatively common around town driving where you are going 20-30 miles per hour or slower - the mileage is Horrendous. Econ or non - econ makes little difference. Using the best Chevron gas I can find ...which my dealer recommended.

avg 24.6mpg for last 140mile with avg speed of 24mph of wintery 80%/20% city/ travel in last 4days. + 5 to 10 min idling while cleaning/defrosting ice off the car
using Mobil1 93oct gas.

Last filled up 10.491 gallon with 262.8miles - 3/12. 95% city driving with no idling/warming up the car.

Filled up for third time today. Hand calculated, miles driven divided by gallons used, 34.1, 34.6, and today 32.8. Econ, mixed highway and city. Florida so no cold weather.

The EPA number is not phony, you are just driving in a condition that wasn't factored into the tests. Also, many things can alter your MPG including temperature, traffic, altitude, etc.

Also, its great to see at least some are hitting the MPG figures posted by Honda. Makes me even more excited for my upcoming purchase of a 2017 CR-V :).

Updated my own:
After first fill-up, display showed 25.9 mpg, hand calculation showed 25.2 mpg with very gentle driving style.

Well if driving around In-City at 25-30 mph is "not figured into the test" - I can certainly tell you why . It's because the mpg would suck majorly . Today I drove it about 8 miles in city ... with my shoe off the right foot so the sock could ever so slightly touch the gas - as light as anyone could possibly manage . I managed to get 20.1 mpg . Extremely slow starts from stop and very gradual - soft as a baby...coasting as much as possible. It's a total lie that these cars will get 28mpg city and 28-30 combined . I personally , from my experience think Honda should be sued for this. Driving in a normal [not hot] manner will give you about 17 mpg or about 11 less than advertised .
