Vibration whilst accelerating

Recently bought a 2011 CRV and noticed that it vibrated, shook, shimmied, wobbled excessively etc when accelerating past 40+mph but would then cease around 70mph.

I knew straight away it wouldn't be tyres as it was only when the car was under load, acceleration.

Got it into a mates garage and had a nosey underneath to identify the issue.

We ended up replacing the Nearside Front driveshaft (UK passenger side) and it completely solved this issue.

I looked around for a while trying to find what caused my CRV to have this vibration and tyres always come up as being a culprit. If it's shaking only when under load, take a look at your driveshafts.

Hope this helps someone out there

We have a G3-2011 EX-l AWD, we bought used, a couple of years ago, currently pushing 190K. The car was a "TOAD", for an unknow amount of miles, and still has the towing bracket under the front bumper.
It has the "vibration thing" going on, between 35-45 mph, when under load, in top 5th gear, under 2000 rpm. If I do the 3rd gear downshift thing, or get above 43mph, in 5th, it stops. In MHO, the trans is not programed to stay in 4th, when the rpm is below 2000 revs. If there is a 4-5 shift solenoid, somewhere in the trans, getting it replaced/ adjusted, should solve these problems!
