Did you check the oil level 5 days ago?.......either at the dealership or immediately after getting home? Dealerships are notorious for overfilling. You need to take it back to the dealership and insist they correct the overfill.

Yes I checked the oil when I got home, after it sat for awhile. It was a little over filled but not by much. It was not over the orange like it is now. The temps have been in the 20's and low 30's all week. So either it didn't work for me or maybe they only changed the oil and did nothing else??? I will be bringing it back in to see what they say.

2018 EXL with 5200 miles on it here.I have owned this vehicle since last February and bought it new. I did the first oil change at around 3000 miles and used Mobil 1 0/20 with an oem a01 filter.I have kept a close eye on the oil level and have never noticed an increase in the level or a gas smell. I have a friend that is a master/lead tech at a dealer where I live.. I received the notice about two weeks ago here in central Ohio. I contacted the dealer where my friend works and scheduled the work and requested that my buddy be the one that did the work per his suggestion. I dropped it off Friday morning and it was done about an hour later. He did the update the heater/ac control and an oil and filter change (he threw in the filter). He said they had three scheduled for the same time as mine on Friday at 7:30 am. He said they have done more of them than he can count and that they have seen two that he believed had the issue this is supposed to address. The most noticeable difference to me is the sound of the engine! I always thought this vehicle and the one I test drove before we ordered ours sounded like they were making a kind of rumble/gurgling noise especially on a cold engine under acceleration. Im in my 60s and it reminded me of what the old cars did if you had them running too rich or the timing retarded. That is now gone and it may be my imagination but the acceleration seems better even if you don't really get into the turbo. So I guess time will tell, just my two cents.

Is there a fix for the fix?

I had problems with the oil dilution, but never with the heat. Had the fix a week ago. It now takes twice as long to warm up on the same daily route as it did before. After 15 minutes at a steady 45mph the gauge was still barely 1/2 way to normal operating temp, and it dropped a full bar sitting at a stoplight. It also seems I've lost about 5 MPG...again, same daily route, nearly the same outside temps. Don't have enough miles on it in a week to check the oil level yet.

I'm going to stop worrying about this lemon. I have the extended warranty, and I'm just going to drive it and join the inevitable class action suit that arises. This has been my one and only experiment with a Honda. I expected better.

EDIT: I gassed her up today and went for a 120 mile drive. Highway MPG seems to be unaffected by the fix.

After give it a test drive for around 10 days. Here what I can tell so far :
1. I felt a slight better acceleration respond (I could be wrong)
2. It may seems the heater is now heats up faster then before. And it gets really HOT. (but that's OK I lived in northeast :))

So far so good, I guess
I got the letter last week. I set the appointment for yesterday (Thursday, Dec 27) But the Service adviser called me and explained that they need 4 freakin' hours to finish the whole process. So I have to reschedule it to next Friday instead.

Will keep you guys updated.
BTW, mine is EX 2017. Has no problem whatsoever
